Charlotte Karem Albrecht is an interdisciplinary scholar of Arab American history, who specializes in examining how Arab immigrants and their descendants have navigated gender, sexuality, race, class, and religion. A collaborative leader and humanities advocate, Dr. Karem Albrecht is currently the director of the Arab and Muslim American studies program and an associate professor in the departments of American Culture and Women’s and Gender Studies at the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor.
